District A Special Election Candidate Forum

On January 3, 2024 at 7 p.m., Alexandria Council of PTA's/PTSA's (PTAC) hosted an online forum for candidates on the ballot for District A's School Board Special Election.

Early voting was underway when candidates Gina Baum and Tim Beaty joined PTAC online to answer six questions submitted by District A voters and PTAC members.  Questions ranged from teacher retention to school safety to support for students with disabilities of all ages. 

The PTAC Board thanks the candidates, interpreters and community members for participating in the forum. PTAC was proud to host the forum, as its mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. PTAC recognizes that the candidate who is elected will undertake the important role of ensuring that our schools provide a high-quality and inclusive education for every ACPS student.
